Supporting the great independent labels in the UK, AMP made a selection of T-Shirts and Tote Bags for the winter AIM Independent Label Market that took place at Spitalfields Market on the 01st and 02nd December 2012.

First up were some T-Shirts for our dear friend Ach at Killing Moon Limited who was representing Worship, Strangers, Bluebell, Duologue, Dan Croll and Draper.

Next we made some yummy T-Shirts and slinky black Tote Bags for Loose Music and all their amazing artists such as Dawes, Deer Tick and Jim White.

With a cracking design by Mr David Lemm, Matthew at Song By Toad got us to make him some T-Shirts and Tote Bags with lots of different colours including a bespoke swampy green that we absolutely love. You could also get beer from Matthew, he’s such a generous man.

Finally we made some beautiful Tote Bags for Tape Club Records which perfectly summed up the ethos of the whole event… ‘Have Fun Making Records’.

To all the independent record labels involved, we salute you!

Clearly the Online accolade belongs more to Louise as AMP’s in house Online Guru, but the recognition of how AMP has grown in the last couple of years and the work we’ve done with all our clients makes us more than proud to do what we do.

If we’ve worked with you on projects either online or at radio why not head over and cast your vote on the Record Of The Day website here

In case you’re wondering what our walk on music would be if we win you’d be treated to Louise champagne gliding onto the stage to the sounds of Kriss Kross ‘Jump’ and Tim most likely attempting the Worm through the crowds to the greased up funk of Prince’s ‘Musicology’. Tim can’t do the worm, but this won’t stop him trying.

The event will take place on the evening of 28 November at: Victorian Vaults, 82 Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch, EC2A 3JF . See you at the bar…

Sheffield prog-popsters Screaming Maldini released a scorcher of a single ‘Summer Somewhere’ in October through Alcopop! Records giving us a taste of what to expect from their forthcoming full length album in 2013.

Working with the band on the radio side of things we locked in a live session with the almighty John Kennedy on XFM which saw the band take on a more acoustic persona featuring a cajon, glockenspiel, mute trumpet, melodica, guitars and layers of incredible vocal harmonies that make these guys so special. They can often be found playing in this guise as well as the full electric set up and we highly recommend checking it out, enchanting and hugely energising at the same time.

6Music also caught the Summer Somewhere bug with plays from Steve Lamacq, Radcliffe & Maconie and Chris Hawkins with Q and the Kerrang! network also supporting the track.

You can check out the video for Summer Somewhere below along with a flashmob version of recorded in an unsuspecting clothing shop..

On Wednesday 28th August Goldierocks rocked the Ceremony alongside Excalibah & Walde, DJing centre stage in the Olympic Stadium during the 2 hour athletes parade with a specially commissioned high energy Global Music mash-up to welcome in the athletes from 164 countries around the world.

Taking place at the 85,000 capacity Olympic Stadium in East London and broadcast to a worldwide audience, the London 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony was created by artistic directors Jenny Sealey and Bradley Hemmings and provided a theatrical and emotional homecoming for the Paralympic Games. The Ceremony was overseen by the team of Executive Producers who were in charge of all four Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies, including Oscar winning film director Stephen Daldry.

Goldierocks said ”What a phenomenal experience. I’m bursting with pride to be welcoming the global paralympian athletes to Great Britain in our finest hour. We’re making history tonight and we’re doing it in the most colourful, diverse and innovative way. This ceremony is a showcase of the wealth of incredible theatrical, design and musical talent in the UK and as an ambassador of British culture is something I’m exceptionally happy to be representing.”

And we’re bursting with pride for her too. Mixes from the ceremony and a Goldierocks exclusive mix will be available from the official Goldierocks site soon, more info to follow…

Collaborating with Jack and his team, AMP were able to secure coverage across a wide selection of online review sites ranging from BBM Live to Whisperin and Hollerin, including a video exclusive for single release Take Me Home on the Blue Walrus.

Other great reviews came from such sites as Supajam, Music-News, Music Middle, London Gigs, and Girl reporter.

AMP also organised an acoustic session with Jack for Noize Makes Enemies, where we ventured up on to their pub roof garden in the sun as Jack broke a few girls hearts with stripped back acoustic versions of tracks from Before The Storm.

Dark synth pop maestros Strangers release their anthemic single Shine On You this week on Killing Moon / Beatwolf Records and as a limited edition vinyl release for Record Store Day available through Rough Trade.

Building on the success of their last single Promises ft Lara Smiles we secured the first Radio 1 play for the band from Huw Stephens and also built a strong campaign with XFM resulting in support from Eddy Temple Morris, Mary Anne Hobbs and John Kennedy plus a session / interview and ultimately a spot on the XFM playlist. Shine On You was also used as the closing soundtrack to the BBC TV Coverage of the Bahrain Formula 1 marking the bands first TV sync, the perfect culmination to the campaign before the band head off on the road with Niki & the Dove

On remix detail this time round was the soon to be huge Draper who threw a big summer lilt at the track and attracted thousands of hits on his rework as soon as it went live on youtube. Check it out here for yourself.

Keep your ears to the ground for the next single Safe Pain from Strangers, we’ve heard early mixes of this track and it’s a dark moody euphoric epic work of joy, trust, it just is and it tastes goooood…
